Charlotte has several amazing rooftop bars in the city. We recommend having a drink at Merchant & Trade, the Cloud Bar or Farenheit.
Merchant & Trade is a fancier option with a beautiful overlooking view of the city. They have outdoor fire pits and delicious drinks.
Cloud Bar has the most amazing views of the skyline, so make sure to visit during sunset for some epic photos. Farenheit is just outside of the city center, making it a great option for a quick drink before dinner.
The best cocktail bars in Charlotte
If you’re looking for a glass of wine or a cocktail, check out Idle Wild, Cotton Room or The Bohemian. These three spots have amazing drinks and awesome atmospheres.
Idle Wild doesn’t have a menu, instead talk to the bartender and they’ll mix you up something custom and delicious. The Cotton Room is a tiny dive bar in the French Quarter with a relaxed vibe and amazing drinks. The Bohemian is an insta-worthy wine bar in the heart of the city. It is on the smaller side, so may not be best if you have a huge group.
The best relaxed pubs
Sometimes a night calls for a relaxed vibe and that’s just what these are: relaxed bars and restaurants for a chill night out. These are also local favorites, so are off the beaten path.
Check out Selwyn Avenue Pub for delicious drinks and a great patio atmosphere. Suffold Punch is a great bar that has an amazing brunch menu and great whiskey drinks.

Charlotte has a growing brewery scene, with nearly 50 different options to chose from. If you’re a beer lover, this might just be your heaven.
Narrowing down the breweries to some top choices is incredibly hard, but we recommend prioritizing Sycamore Brewing, Wooden Robot and Old Mecklenberg Brewery. They are all amazing and are staples of the Charlotte brewery scene.
